Annual Compensation: $225000 to $270000 DOE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic leadership, day-to-day management, and oversight of the Company's air ambulance aviation operation. This includes direct oversight as the accountable executive for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificate(s). This position is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient aviation operations are provided to partners, patients, and the communities we serve. This includes soliciting and developing constructive and professional relationships with health care organizations and municipalities where the Guardian Flight has a relationship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for business unit oversight regarding personnel, policies/procedures, and aircraft, in coordination with a team of direct reports that includes the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance and/or Vice President of Aviation, Director of Safety, Director of Communications, and Director of Clinical Service for the business unit. Responsible for overall integrity, functioning and management of the company to ensure safe, efficient operation.
  • Collaborates with GMR Chief Medical Officer in conjunction with Regional President and/or Group President for oversight of region activities with Medical Director(s), Patient Care Services, and Base Operations regarding medical personnel, policies and procedures, medical supplies, equipment, and departmental goals.
  • Interfaces with health system leadership on the overall relationship and service being provided
  • Leads the strategic planning process to identify key initiatives, formulation of action plans, and methods to monitor progress.
  • Negotiates service agreements on behalf of the business unit and ensures operational compliance with those agreements.
  • Ensures alignment of business unit goals with overall GMR strategic initiatives and values.
  • Provides administration to direct reports by applying specialized and technical knowledge in the implementation and execution of the planned air ambulance operations, while ensuring the strategic direction of the organization is followed.
  • Accountable Executive to FAA for the part 135 Air Carrier Certificate.
  • In coordination with Regional Presidents, develops and executes growth strategy - including operationalizing new bases and integrating acquisitions.
  • Responsible for the company's Safety Management System and for fostering a culture that promotes reporting and continual improvement.
  • Manages cost and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) variances while maintaining operational efficiency, quality, and safety.
