Job Description
Purpose
Serves as a key partner to the Global Head of Transformation and Operational Excellence and the senior R&D management team by participating in the development of tactical and operational plans to meet department goals, building the team capability to deliver toward those goals, ensuring that team roles and responsibilities are clear at all times, and team projects and initiatives are on an effective trajectory to achieve those goals; and addressing issues and obstacles that could impair the team's effectiveness. The Global Head of Transformation and Operational Excellence may delegate other duties as required to the R&D Chief of Staff.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Partners with the Global Head of Transformation and Operational Excellence in preparing reports, presentations and/or papers to present to the Executive Management, Board and CEO as required.
- Assigns work activities and coordinates schedules, projects, and programs; provides constructive feedback; reviews and evaluates work and makes effective suggestions and recommendations
- Reviews and monitors agreed changes and acts as the interface on such changes between the L2s and the Global Head of Transformation and Operational Excellence
- Supports R&D Transformation initiatives
- Support operational excellence activities with other R&D Chiefs of Staff
- Acts as the interface with other functions and responds/delegates work to the respective owners
- Teams with department leadership to develop and prioritize department plans to achieve R&D’s vision and strategy, addresses issues and obstacles that impede progress toward achieving goals
- Drafts the agenda for bi-weekly Management Team Meetings and in-person meetings, following up on the same with minutes/action Items
- R&D representative on multiple global Teva teams
- R&D representative on the Parsippany site leadership team
Qualifications
- Relevant Masters or PhD
- Experience in pharmaceutical discovery and development
- Strong written and communication skills
- Substantive experience in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Advanced principles and practices of program development, public speaking, program and project administration and management, including procurement and contract management
- Advanced principles and practices of project management
- Ability to build complex cross-group/department plans, drive, track and report execution progress
- Managing large and complex operations programs and projects
- Principles and practices of program development and administration
- Working cooperatively with other departments and key stakeholders internally and externally
- Strong relationship building skills, able to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, including presentation skills
- Interpreting and administering policies and procedures sufficient to administer, discuss, resolve, and explain them to staff and other constituencies
- Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
