Assist in the operation of a first-class dining establishment by implementing Whitsons ' high standard in all facets of the operation in the Consolidated School District of New Britain.

• Adhere to all the guidelines in the 2010 Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA).

• Prepare menu selections and negotiate all catering events including on-site special events.

• Supervise all labor requirements for events to include linen and other rentals

• Assist in the periodic redesign of all server and seating area decorations.

• Assume a leadership role in a supportive, positive manner.

• Act as a client liaison during catering events

• Create a harmonious working relationship with staff and clients by demonstrating consistent and equitable treatment of others.

• Assist in maintaining labor and food costs at budgeted levels

• Follow all corporate programs and help develop marketing and theme promotions at facilities throughout the Consolidated School District of New Britain.

• Assign cleaning responsibilities to staff and needed after the completion of a catering/special event.

• Assist in daily operations when requested by the Food Service Director.

• Participate in in-services pertaining to customer service, sanitation and new policies and safety protocols

• Ensure that catering is completed for events on time

• Communicate effectively with staff at all levels

• Maintain an organized work area

• Pay attention to details and demonstrates reliability

• Act as client liaison during the dinner program at New Britain High

• Read, memorize and implement all company policies.

• Maintains a professional and clean appearance/uniform at all times

• Completes al other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• HS Diploma or GED required

• Minimum of 2-3 years of food service experience required

• Must have Serve Safe or similar, safety, customer service training class certifications. Required within 12 months of hire.

• Excellent communication skills

• Must have basic computer skills

• Must have positive attitude and willingness to learn.
