Chair of Psychiatry Services – Coastal Southeastern Massachusetts – less than 30 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island and less than 1 hour from Boston, Massachusetts
Southcoast Health is seeking a Chair/Chief of Psychiatry Services. The Chair/Chief of Psychiatry Services will report to the Chief Medical Officer and partner with the Executive Director for Behavioral Health Services and Chief Operating Officer of the Health System.
Southcoast Health is invested in comprehensive and integrated behavioral health program that provides consultative services across 3 community hospitals (St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA, Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA & Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA) along with imbedded behavioral health providers within our ambulatory primary care and specialty clinics.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a non-for profit, mission driven community setting, invested in building up behavioral health services across the system – bringing opportunities for immediate direct care impact as well as departmental program development.
The successful candidate will be an experienced psychiatrist with excellent leadership skills. A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience is required with proven outcomes in growth and program development, supervision of professional providers, quality, and safety improvement. MD/DO with Board Certification in psychiatry is required and applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Massachusetts. This position has protected administrative hours as well as clinical expectation which may include ambulatory practice, consultations in the acute care environment, APP supervision, as well as various opportunities to participate in complex care planning.
The successful candidate will be an experienced psychiatrist with excellent leadership skills who is interested in working in a progressive and collaborative environment. Southcoast Health’s behavioral health work is further supported by strong collaborative relationships with community partners and our partnership with Southcoast Behavioral Health, a 120-bed inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital located in Dartmouth, MA.
