Our practice is led by Deepak Kademani DMD MD FACS a nationally recognized oral and maxillofacial surgeon and offers a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and head and neck surgery including complex implant based oral reconstruction.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program
• Surgical technologists pass an exam through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) to be considered a Certified Surgical Technician (CST). Aspiring surgical techs are also able to gain certification through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• Active certificate/license
• CPR Certification
• Proven skill in nursing practice scope and documentation
• A working knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, appropriate clinical pharmacology for licensed dental assistants, and coding procedures
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical health records
• Ability to work independently and effectively balance multiple tasks

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for surgical procedures including:
• Obtaining complete medical history
• Preoperative preparation of patient and surgical instruments
• Initiation of IV and sedation medications
• Continuous monitoring throughout the surgical procedure
• Directly assist surgeons during surgical procedures including: suctioning, patient monitoring, & airway management during sedation as directed by the surgeon
• Monitor and assess patients after surgery and sedation
• Provide discharge instructions to patients and caregivers in the post anesthesia care area
• Assist in sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment prior to surgical cases
• Assist in taking digital radiographs with surgeon
• Assist in impressions, pouring of models as prescribed by the surgeon
• Assist surgeon in postoperative follow up appointments
• Maintain drug, instrument, and equipment inventory
• Special assignments of tasks, maintenance of equipment, Radiation records, OSHA records, SDS, etc.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Protocols
• Maintain privacy of patients and assure patient confidentiality at all times
• Additional duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
