Description: The Mail Operations Pharmacy Technician 1 accurately fills and counts medications. The Mail Operations Pharmacy Technician 1 performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments.

Job Description:

  • Earn a $1,000 hiring bonus! Bonus is paid after 180 days of employment; you must be employed until that date to be eligible to receive the payment.
  • Enclara, is a wholly owned hospice and palliative care pharmacy business acquired by Humana in 2021. Enclara is the nation’s largest full-service pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) specifically for the hospice and palliative care sectors. Serving over 450 customers and nearly 100,000 patients nationally, Enclara works closely with hospices to reduce pharmacy costs, improve patient care and support caregivers through: digital innovations, flexible medication access, one-on-one clinical support, and excellent customer service.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30PM to 11PM CST with rotating weekends

Summary: Under the direction of a pharmacist, perform pharmacy related functions in compliance with department policies and procedures while providing optimal pharmaceutical care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and Company regulations.
  • Prepacking of stock including preparation of equipment and pre-pack labels, packaging and labeling of product for bar-code scanning, and quality control procedures.
  • Stock control functions including stock level audits, expiry date checking, stock file maintenance, and maintenance of internal stock movement.
  • General cleaning of work area and general maintenance of equipment and materials.
  • Maintains knowledge of loss prevention techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, communications & mathematical skills – Required.
  • Knowledge of medication brand and generic names.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
  • Ability to understand the importance of and respect the confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Professional demeanor.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Knowledge of medication brand and generic names, medical terminology, and calculations
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months pharmacy experience preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient use of MS office preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • TN Pharmacy Technician license required
  • Pharmacy Technician certification preferred (CPHT or EXCPT)
