Position Title: Certified Pharmacy Technician, Part-time and Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the pharmacist in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care by accurately and efficiently processing, recordkeeping, and dispensing of patient prescriptions issued by CDHC providers. In addition to performing traditional pharmacy technician duties, maintaining automation equipment, and assisting with managing and auditing inventory, pharmacy processes, and programs. Participate in the development of policies and programs that aim to promote good health, educate our patients about the importance of being compliant with medication therapy, and work toward improving clinical outcomes.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately transfer patient information between electronic health records (EHR) and the pharmacy management system.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy management system for timely processing, filling, and dispensing of patient medication.
- Appropriately answer phone calls and questions; if necessary, transfer phone calls to desired or recommended department.
- Conduct cash and credit card transactions at the register when dispensing patient medication.
- Assist in managing inventory minimum levels for drugs and supplies.
- Properly rotate and stock incoming inventory and supplies.
- Routinely check for outdated, recalls, and abandoned prescriptions and remove them from inventory.
- Perform the job duties for which they have received orientation, training, and demonstrated competency.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assure compliance with pharmacy-related Federal, State, and corporate regulations and guidelines.
- Work closely with the pharmacist to help accurately process, fill, and coordinate delivery of prescription medication, maintain inventory, and manage daily pharmacy-related tasks.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance when dealing with or transporting protected health information.
- Pick up and transport medications to patients.
- Act as a liaison between patients and Pharmacists when off-site conducting deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Education: High School education or equivalent required.
- Licensure: Registered within the first 30 days of being hired. Eligible for certification within the first twelve months of being hired. Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred with a valid license held in good standing.
- CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
- Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred but not required.
- Travel: May include in-town travel for Pharmacy Delivery services.
- Must possess a satisfactory driving record.
- Must abide by all state and local driving laws when operating a CDHC vehicle.
- Possess general knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint. Knowledge of QS1 and NextGen preferred.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to engage patients, providers, and other staff.
- Ability to work well individually and within a team environment.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to prioritize and appropriately manage time to accomplish tasks.
- Hours/Days of Operation: 9a – 6p, Monday through Friday only. No weekends or holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
