Certified Nursing Aide PCU Full Time
I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current Kentucky Nurse Aid Certification required or successful completion of the first year of an accredited Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.
- Certifications based on unit worked:
- BLS
- CPI
- LTA
- CNA Patient Deterioration
- Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology
II. Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to identify the scope of practice issues, prioritization, critical thinking, effective decision making, communication, interpersonal relationship skills, delegation and team leading skills consistent with the level of professional growth. Adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.
Certified professional caregiver working under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Responsible for providing assigned care according to scope of practice. Has adequate knowledge to approach patients of all age groups. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

- Provide exceptional service and/or care to all patients, customers, and team members
- Receive assignment and report from RN
- Personal care skills
- Mental health and social service skills
- Caring for cognitively-impaired patients
- Basic restorative skills
- Patients’ rights
- Ensure positive customer relations interactions
- End of Life Care
