Vanderbilt Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting 2 Certified Nurse-Midwives for hospitalist-only roles at Vanderbilt University Hospital. The selected candidates will receive a faculty appointment in the School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Generalist Division. These midwives will be part of the new “’Jones’ non-teaching” team, caring for pregnant women from the many satellite locations of the Vanderbilt Center for Women’s Health. Full time (1.0 FTE) will consist of 3- 12 hr shifts weekly. Consideration for 0.65-1.0 FTE positions. This team complements our already existing Labor and Delivery “Boehm” team, which provides residency and medical education, and whose volume and acuity have grown significantly.

These positions will include covering Labor & Delivery, attending births, triaging team patients, and postpartum rounding. Responsibilities will also include teaching midwifery students. 12 hour shifts only (no 24 hr calls). Nights, weekends and shared holiday rotations should also be expected. Highly supportive MD, nursing and administrative colleagues.

The ideal candidates will have experience in full scope midwifery practice.
