What You'll Be Doing

The Sunnybrook Child Health Clinic offers pediatric services to Wake County residents from birth to 21 years of age regardless of race or economic status. This clinic provide services Monday through Friday. We are currently seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team!

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) has direct patient care in a busy outpatient Pediatric Clinic with diverse, multilingual patient population.

Responsibilities Include:
Conduct patient in-take and interviews
Administer vaccinations and assist with simple surgical procedures
Make patient referrals and do lab result follow-up; precept and supervise nurse aids and students
Assist with patient check-in/patient phone calls, processing patient accounts and claims, stocking rooms, and ordering supplies
Clean the work areas as directed by OSHA regulations

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
High school diploma or GED
Six months of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
CPR, CMA Certificate; successful completion of a medical assistant training program through an accredited school recognized by the United States Department Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or equivalent medical assistant certification through on the job training and preceptorship by a RN and successful completion of the certification exam.
Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Bilingual strongly preferred
Experience translating Spanish to English in a medical or healthcare environment

Hiring Range: $18.20 - $23.17 Commensurate with Experience
