Position: Central Scheduler
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform the duties required to schedule patients for ancillary procedures/services, communicate any
preparation needed to the patient, and communicate the information to the various departments involved.
Assumes responsibility for medical necessity determination. Verifies and pre-authorizes insurance coverage
and enters appropriate billing information into the computer system. This position supports an organizational
culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.
Utilize the appropriate skills in accepting responsibilities of assignments while
exhibiting teamwork techniques and effective communications which contribute to the overall operation
of the department. Understands, participates in, and contributes to quality improvement process for the
Department and Institution.
Applies appropriate policies and procedures, as set forth by the Department of Business Systems for the

purpose of assessing and communicating patient needs by performing duties related to ancillary scheduling.
Maintains accurate, courteous, and efficient communication between the physicians/physician office staff or the patient.
Verifies insurance and releases billing data accurately and completely by contacting appropriate payer. Assists with and
works to expedite the admission processes. Cross-train to other job duties as deemed appropriate by Supervisor/Director.
Accept additional duties as assigned.

2. Minimum one year job related experience recommended

4. Recommend moderate to intense concentration and attention to detail
