Product Summary:

The Cell Culture Product Specialist, based out of the Northeast Region, is responsible for growing revenue in the territory for Bio-Techne’s Cell Culture related product solutions in regenerative medicine, drug discovery, and basic biology research. The portfolio includes Specialized cell culture, Stem Cells, Matrix substrates, RUO Proteins & Small Molecule products. Market Segments to target include Pharma/Biotech, CRO, Government, and Academia. Minimum requirements include scientific knowledge of the cell culture workflow, 5 years customer facing experience, relevant degree in the life sciences, and the ability to travel 30%+ across a defined territory. Experience with cell culture and familiarity with stem cells, cancer biology, or regenerative medicine a plus.

This is a field-based role covering the Northeast Region. Our ideal candidate will be based in the Boston or New York areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales in the territory for the cell culture workflow solutions focusing on growing revenue in regenerative medicine and drug discovery, in addition to basic biological research.
  • Be accountable for the performance of the product group and implementation of Bio-Techne’s strategic plan and priorities.
  • Work closely with the Sales staff to ensure we provide a coordinated approach to customers and promote all the solutions Bio-Techne can provide.
  • Provide feedback on the adoption of the Cell Culture and RUO portfolio with the goal of being competitive while providing the best value and return.
  • Forecasting on an ongoing basis of sales monthly, quarterly and throughout the year for the territory covered will be expected.
  • Travel 50%+ of the time to attend internal meetings, visit customer locations, vendor shows etc. across west coast or east coast territory, respectively.
  • Utilize market knowledge of academia, industry, governments, and applied science markets for strategic selling.
  • Apply interpersonal, presentation, and time & territory management skills.
  • Apply scientific knowledge of the cell culture workflow to speak with customers on a technical level.
  • Listen, understand, question, and use your ability to translate information to a value proposition for the customer.
  • Apply general business skills such as negotiation, strong organizational skills, data based decision making and justification process in decision making.
  • Look for new business opportunities and be able to articulate and gain alignment for new business opportunities
  • Digest scientific journals to stay current and be in the forefront of information that will assist in product and portfolio decisions
  • Apply excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present oral presentation to small or large audiences
  • Be self-directed, highly motivated, creative, and have a Can Do attitude!


Education and Experience:

  • Relevant degree in the life sciences
  • 5 years of customer facing experience
  • Experience with cell culture and familiarity with stem cells, cancer biology, or regenerative medicine a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint and Salesforce.com a plus.
