CATHOLIC DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

PART-TIME

Location: Camp Lejeune, NC

Qualifications Requirement:

• Possess an Associate's Degree or higher or have 4 or more years of experience as a Catholic Director of Religious Education or Religious Educator.

• Have minimum 1 year experience working with children and young adults.

• Experience working with or attending a military chapel in the community.

• Shall be able to work with diverse religious beliefs.

• Shall have the ability to supervise, train, and mentor volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shall pursue new approaches to religious education and methods consistent with the cultural and educational environment of the Marine and Navy communities.

• Shall advise the Catholic Chaplain on programs, methods, and their usage that are necessary to meet or improve the religious educational needs of families and single active duty service members.

• Design, prepare and coordinate the curriculum calendar of classes, academic and religious events observed throughout the calendar year.

• Shall prepare and maintain a schedule depicting the dates, times, and places for classes, workshops and teachers meetings, and parent conferences.

• Prepare timely and on-going publicity of Catholic Religious Education Programs and events through memoranda, bulletins and other available media.

• Provide continuous teacher recruitment, training, and leadership development to ensure adequate volunteer, staff and competence of personnel.

• Supervise religious educational instruction and studies of approximately 500 students from preschool through high school age. As well as coordinate and supervise all workshops, teachers' meetings, and parent’s conferences throughout the year.

• Organize religious education weekly classes, recruit and train sufficient volunteer teachers, substitutes, and other necessary staff supplies for classrooms an office

Hours and Performance:

• Shall work a minimum of 22 hours per week.
