Looking for part-time retail work? IOCP is looking for one or two cashiers for our Resale Select store. You could work 20 hours per week or job share and work about 10 hours per week. We are flexible!

Our store carries second-hand clothing, household goods and furniture. Resale Select is not your average thrift store! Every item in our two unique shopping areas is carefully curated and hand-selected with care. In this brand-new role, you’ll work alongside staff and volunteers to create a warm and positive shopping experience for our guests. The cashier will spend most of each shift welcoming guests, processing customer transactions and answering questions. During slower periods you might price merchandise or ensure the store looks neat and inviting. We’re looking for someone who enjoys retail, is friendly and reliable, and has an eye for detail. Schedule and Pay:

• In-person, part-time
• Hours may vary but approximately 10-20 hours per week
• Flexible weekdays (1:00-5:00 PM), two Saturdays per month (9:30 AM-5:30 PM)
• Compensation starts at $15 - $18 per hour

What you'll do:

• Create a welcoming shopping experience by warmly greeting guests and engage in friendly and genuine conversation throughout each transaction.
• Ask open ended questions about the guest’s shopping experience and using those questions to assess, understand, and determine how to tailor your approach.
• Manage customer transactions using our point-of-sale (POS) system, including collect cash and credit card payments, processing returns/exchanges/refunds.
• Open and close POS, count cash, reconcile register drawer.
• Scan and bag all guest items efficiently and neatly.
• Answer phone calls and customer questions.
• Help maintain a safe and clean store by folding clothing, straightening display areas and clearing our dressing rooms.
• Price and tag store merchandise.
• Troubleshoot technology problems as they emerge.
• Coach and direct volunteers in working with a diverse community of customers, donors, clients and volunteers.
• Support volunteers and provide training when needed.
• Ensure store policies and procedures are followed.
• Notify Store Manager when supplies and equipment are needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a retail setting.
• Ability to understand and learn database (Point of Sale) programs quickly.
• High attention to detail.
• Timely and reliable.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently; be self-directed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a timely manner.
• Must be able to commute to Plymouth, MN to work onsite.
