POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor the CASAC-T Counselor will provide SUD counseling services in the residential treatment program. The CASAC-T Counselor provides comprehensive assessment services to clients who may have substance use barriers to employment by applying clinical judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and levels of care. This includes performing SUD diagnostic screening, intake, assessment, evaluation, orientation, treatment planning, case management, counseling, intervention, crisis intervention, patient education, reporting and record keeping in both individual and group counseling settings. The CASAC-T Counselor is also responsible for referrals and coordination of care in consultation with other professionals.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Develops and conducts group and individual counseling on a regular scheduled basis to caseload clients in the integrated outpatient treatment program.

· Obtain random observed urine samples according to established protocol.

· Orients clients about program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, client’s obligations, right’s and program operations

· Provides education and information to the client about alcohol and drug use.

· Demonstrates understanding of the obligation to adhere to generally accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct in the counseling relationship with clients.

· Knowledge of the obligation to engage in prevention as well as treatment techniques.

· Maintains and updates referral services and resources that may be useful to our client population; makes referral when necessary and appropriate.

· Participates in community outreach and community relations and development activities to drive and maintain census capacity.

· Participates in program meetings and required trainings.

· Ability to complete any reasonable tasks or requests made by a supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Associate Degree preferred.

· Minimum of one (1) years working in a Mental Health setting.

· Minimum of three (3) years working in a Mental Health setting preferred.

· Valid unrestricted OASAS certification as a CASAC-T.

· Must have specific training in chemical use, abuse and dependence specific to the services provided.

· Must obtain Mandated reporter (2 hours) training/certificate prior to hire date.

· Obtain within six months of hire:

o Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT)

· Obtain within thirty days of hire:

o Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment

o CASAC Canon of Ethics (6 hours)

o Confidentiality related to 42CFR (3 Hours)

o Mandated reporter (2 hours)

· Strong leadership, excellent organizational and communication skills

· Ability to work on a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environment including working with children (0-5years)

· Ability to multitask and to work and function under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
