MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma in Carpentry or related field and a minimum of three years of work experience in the field. Extensive experience, well documented in the application packet, may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. Must have basic computer skills with the ability to use MS Office software which includes PowerPoint. Able to teach night classes.

PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:
NC General Contractors License. Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology from an accredited Institution, teaching experience at the community college level or four-year college. Must have basic computer skills with the ability to use MS Office software which includes power point. Able to teach night and/or Saturday classes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Instructor, Carpentry, a part-time position responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi; administering tests; maintaining accurate instructional records; maintaining a safe laboratory environment; communicating equipment and supply needs; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: classroom and laboratory instruction, examination preparation and grading and preparing students for a rewarding career in Carpentry. Provides students with hand on training as well as textbook training as needed to succeed in the Carpentry field. Instruct students in the techniques of Carpentry. Ensures that all necessary documentation is kept current and delivered in a timely manner. Ensures that an accurate and current materials are being used in the classroom. Prepares and updates material/outlines for adult learning styles. The Instructor, Carpentry is responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi; administering tests; maintaining accurate instructional records; maintaining a safe laboratory environment; communicating equipment and supply needs; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College.

SALARY:
Salary commensurate with education and work experience. No Benefits; 12-25 hours per week.
