Job description
This position is responsible for freight car inspection and repair. You will participate in inspecting, repairing and maintaining railcars consistent with industry standards, company requirements, federal and AAR/FRA requirements. Employees will be required to use hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment and measuring instruments as well as operate forklifts, torches, and welders.
· Make weld repairs on railcars (training provided)
· Inspect car components for compliance with FRA and AAR standards
· Identify or analyze defective components and determine the necessary corrective action
· Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety and operations
