The Role:

The Campground Ranger must provide exceptional customer service to all campground guests and visitors. Duties will include, but are not limited to, patrolling and monitoring the camps to ensure all guests and visitors comply with rules and regulations. Campground Rangers will be required to complete minor maintenance repairs, as well as, completing campground checks, campground clean up, and after hour guest check ins.

Personnel must be willing to work weekends and holidays. The Campground Ranger position is mainly completed outdoors, and personnel will be working in the local weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs cleaning of restrooms, showers, campgrounds, day use areas, picnic sites, and other facilities as required using approved chemicals and methods.
  • Assist camp staff with processing campers, and other visitor service functions.
  • Provide accurate and concise information about camp rules, activities, directions to destinations, etc.
  • Accurately collect fees using Company cash-handling procedures.
  • Receive and forward reported complaints, safety issues, violations, emergencies, etc. to the appropriate person.
  • Observe and report illegal, unsafe, and unusual activities in the campground.
  • Answer questions, give directions and explain rules and regulations to visitors.
  • Offers assistance to campers when it is within the scope of your position, training, and experience.
  • Maintain a professional, clean, safe, and welcoming campsite. Set an example for campers to follow.
  • Performs daily campground checks. Report findings.
  • Safely operate camp vehicles, wear seat belts, and follow other safety procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external clients who use the property.
  • Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with the public, co-workers, etc.
  • Transports campers gear and additional amenities to campsites.
  • Attends and participates in tailgate safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintains and wears appropriate safety equipment for tasks.
  • Maintains work areas in accordance with established safe job practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather: work in unpleasant and rapidly changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in outdoor campground environment, subject to wildlife interactions (e.g. snakes, bugs, bison)
  • Ability to walk up to one mile, across uneven terrain, on or off pavement, in both uphill and downhill conditions to perform assigned duties.
  • Stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) to perform the duties associated with the job. (May take short rest breaks as needed)
  • Perform basic mathematical computations, cash handling, and other tasks associated with assigned duties
  • Make sound decisions given available information and situational parameters
  • Follow directions and company policies and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to working weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School/GED Diploma
  • Minimum 18 years of age

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and 50 lbs. +
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull on a regular basis.
  • Must have full range of overhead motions and full hand dexterity.
  • Requires visual acuity and the ability to hear clearly to communicate with managers, coworkers, and guests
