Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience in donor relations, fundraising or constituent services environment.
- Superb customer service approach with well-developed interpersonal skills to build and sustain collaborative and lasting relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Customer service experience with prominent clientele is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to convey information accurately and interact effectively and diplomatically with executive assistants of donor-volunteers, DAR staff members, and university administrators.
- Strong written communication skills to prepare, proofread and edit a variety of correspondence and reports for correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook), in order to prepare correspondence, reports, and presentation materials with speed and accuracy; ability to learn new technologies and software applications in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Demonstrated high level of personal integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
- Experience working in a higher education setting as well as knowledge of university policy and organization, in order to obtain information and complete projects as assigned, is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize and work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to make effective timely decisions and meet deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
- Skilled with meeting and event management, including making facilities and catering arrangements, disseminating materials, tracking RSVPs, and recording minutes or preparing summations.
- Resourceful with ability to analyze data/information or circumstances to define problems and suggest solutions and/or methods of implementation.
- Maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule to best accommodate efficiency of department needs.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as required for special events.
