Qualifications:
General Description:
Assist in the general operation of the school cafeteria food preparation and carries out other specific duties as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Service Manager, as needed.

Qualifications:
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Some previous experience preferred in the preparation and serving of food in a commercial or school cafeteria.
- Have the ability and knowledge to operate all available equipment and machines in the food preparation area.
- Have the ability to give clear written and oral directions.
- Have the ability to assist in the maintenance of a current inventory of all food and cafeteria equipment.

Essential Functions:
- Preparing of food items.
- Adheres to prescribed recipes for food preparation.
- Completes essential functions and assists others, as needed, in preparing daily lunches.
- Adheres to rigid sanitary standards in the food preparation.
- Sanitizes dish room equipment and tables, daily.
- Fills and operates dishwasher.
- Assists in the kitchen and cafeteria clean-up and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Assists in shelving food deliveries and taking inventory
- Reports needs for supplies and equipment to the Head Cook.
- Works at banquets as requested by Head Cook or Service Manager.
- Performs other cafeteria related duties as assigned by the Head Cook or the Service Manager.
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
- Occasional interaction among unruly children.
