Farnsworth Group is seeking a
CAD Technician - Transportation/Structures in our
Springfield, IL office. In this role, you will work with Transportation and Structural Engineers for topographic survey processing, design layout, design modeling and drawing preparation.
Job Activities:
- Qualified candidates will enjoy working with experienced engineers and designers on a variety of projects, developing structural plans for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, water/wastewater treatment plants.
- Candidate will receive exposure to a variety of project types across Transportation/Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Water/Wastewater Engineering.
- Career growth opportunities exist for learning and advancement.
- Development of drawings illustrating existing and proposed conditions utilizing established company/client standards. Candidates will work with MicroStation and MicroStation Connect; AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience a plus.
Specific Requirements Include:
- Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Drafting/Design, or similar field.
- Experience with MicroStation and MicroStation Connect; AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience a plus.
- Coursework with Civil Drafting emphasis.
- Flexibility to perform design, drafting, and some field work and recognize the importance of meeting stringent deadlines in an often fast-paced environment.
- Candidate should be team and detailed oriented, highly motivated with a strong work ethic, and can work effectively and efficiently with minimal direction.
- Communicate effectively with a variety of project team members.
- 0-5 years of experience; new graduates are welcome to apply.
