Job Title: CAD Drafter / Order Engineering
Location: Burr Ridge, IL – ASI Accurate Partitions a Metal Toilet Partition Manufacturing Facility
Reports to: Order Engineering Team Lead
FLSA Class: Non-Exempt
Summary
Perform drafting activities for the company, including the completion of concept/fabrication drawings using CAD and the creation of BOMs based on information provided by the customer. Provide drafting/design support to Team Lead and Operations and Sales Departments as required.
Responsibilities:
Process Concept / Fabrication Drawings
- Prioritize drawing requests
- Review sketches / architectural plans establishing product requirements, compartment configurations, and pre-qualify any ADA compliance issues
- Prepare drawing sets for Approval and Final As-Built documentation
- Draw compartment configurations based on customer submitted drawings in AutoCAD using published Drafting Guidelines
- Check drawing set for accuracy – ADA compliance, correct compartment / component dimensioning, compartment orientation
- Extract BOM based on completed drawing
- Reconcile BOM/ Drawing Cover Sheet/ Sales Order Acknowledgement
- Email customer the completed Transmittal set in PDF format
- Revise drawings as required based on changes communicated by the customer
- Determine the best way to achieve their objectives when requested changes are not feasible
- Ensure changes / discrepancies are properly communicated to the customer and are reflected in the drawing set
- Support team lead with non-order related drafting / design workload as required
Proficiencies:
AutoCAD / AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 and later:
- Utilization and creation of blocks with attributes
- Utilization and creation of dynamic blocks
- CUI, Alias, and System Variables
- Attribute Data Extraction
- Shortcuts and Express Tools
- Paper / Model spaces (viewports)
- DWG/DWT clean-up (purge, audit, and recover)
- Creation, customization and use of Tool Palettes
- Basic 3D
Excel
- Formatting and Editing (tables, illustrations, and charts) o Insert (tables, illustrations, and charts)
- Page Layout (themes and page setup)
- Formulas (logical, math & trig, and statistical)
Word

Requirements
- Full-time (40+ hrs.)
- Ability to work overtime
- Authorize to work in the US
- At least 5 years of drafting experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree Computer-Aided Design or related field preferred
- Detail-oriented with effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
