Daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include: Installing CAT5 and CAT6, fiber and copper cable in ceiling, conduits and raised floors; terminates both fiber & copper cabling. Installs fiber and copper cable in ceiling, conduits and raised floors; routes cable within walls and modular furniture, Moves, Add, Changes, Install, maintain, and repair low voltage cable.
- Receiving work assignments from supervisor and or other designated employees
- Making necessary preparations required for rearranging, terminating inside plant infrastructure.
- Performing operations in connection with the installation, rearrangement, and repair of outside plant infrastructure. This includes fiber/copper cable, analog phone punch downs and patch cord installation.
- Install support structures, including cable racks (frames), j-hooks and other related support structures.
- Terminates and dresses communications closets (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels, wire managers and cable trays).
- Properly tests telecom infrastructure while accurately document the results.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of cabling standards.
- Performs testing and troubleshooting.
- May work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Testing, locating and repairing defects in wires for copper cables and fibers for fiber optic cables and digital carrier systems, using the proper test equipment.
- Installing, repairing, inspecting and maintaining inside cables, wires and patch cords that connect telecommunication systems and equipment.
- Contacting customers face-to-face to notify them of work being performed on their lines, and when service will be restored.
- Identifying data base discrepancies by performing proactive preventive maintenance and providing corrected information to appropriate individuals.
- Daily completion of all related administrative paperwork, time sheets, etc.
- Basic computer skills, working with customers' computers and equipment.
- Performing additional duties and tasks as required by the company
Salary Rate: $38.00 to $50.00/hour + Fringe Rate of $4.60/hour
Positions covered by the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act or Davis-Bacon Act will comply with the statute requirements.

Basic Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in any site maintenance/facilities related field (electrical or communications preferred).
- Knowledge and training in communications, electrical hazards, Lockout/Tagout and basic electrical safety.
- Experience working with low voltage AC (600 VAC Nominal or less) and associated low voltage AC and DC control circuits.
- Knowledge and ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to work in “High Pressure” situations on “Critical” equipment effectively and safely.
Other Job Requirements
- Must have an active (or the ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Poly
- U.S citizen
- Required to work in confined spaces
- Required to work at heights
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI Certification
- Previous experience in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or other related fields
- Familiar with industry tools and equipment
- Experience working with the DOD
- High School Diploma or equivalent appropriate General Certificates of Secondary Education or global equivalent preferred
- Two (2) years’ experience in the telecommunication industry maintaining the telephone systems and telephone infrastructure cabling
- Basic computer skills
- Able to multi-task
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic problem solving skills
