Our world-renown manufacturing client is seeking a
Buyer/Purchaser in the
Oak Brook, IL area. The Buyer is responsible for researching and selecting vendors to help the organization procure corrugated and plastic materials to be utilized in manufacturing consumer goods.

- Coordinates the procurement of materials to keep the production operations stocked with daily and monthly supplies
- Creates PO' s for supply purchases
- secures written and oral quotes from vendors
- Monitors back orders and expedites deliveries, evaluates vendor performance and qualifies vendor sources to fulfill orders
- Maintains and updates vendor pricing database
- Identifies alternative vendors during supply shortages
- Analyses order specification to ensure quality is met
- Handles a vast supplier base and multiple commodities (Packaging, Print, plastics and corrugated)
- Must have a 4 year degree in purchasing or business administration or equivalent in training or experience
- 2-3 years of experience in an purchasing environment.
- Good Math Aptitude
- Must be computer literate in Windows environment
- Good written and oral communication skills
