As the Buyer, will procure materials or other goods and/or coordinate activities involved with purchasing products and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies used by the company.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and execute direct material purchase orders per MRP output as required to support daily production needs.
- Procures materials or other goods and/or coordinates activities involved with purchasing products and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
- Monitor supplier open order reports to meet requirements.
- Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Works out remedies for defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, and vendors.
- Accountable for timely delivery of item and quantity required through receiving process.
- Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Communicate change notifications to suppliers.
- Expedites orders and requests as needed.
- Maintain and communicate vendor forecasts with key suppliers.
- Investigates and develops sources of supplies; issues bid requests, prepares bid specifications, formal bid invitations, or requests for proposals; receives and analyzes bids, quotes, and proposals; selects and awards vendors to procure requisitioned commodities; and administers contracts.
- Locate secondary vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
- Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. inventory, RFQ, invoices, purchase orders, etc.) for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with a variety of policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
- Manage the entire procure to pay process.
- Competent skills in the application of typical PC software including MRP/ERP, Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical and management software tools.
- Advanced analytical skills in Excel/Access a plus.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, goal setting manufacturing operation
- Ability to work in a team based, consensus building environment
