Role Synopsis

Warminster’s planning team is responsible for crafting a safe achievable manufacturing schedule to meet customer demand and purchasing / scheduling materials in support of that schedule. MRP planners are responsible for purchasing assigned groups of materials and end to end order management. Planners will ensure flawless availability of materials capable of meeting demands for finished product and achieving goals of In Full – On Time shipment of customer orders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining optimum inventories of bulk / non-bulk raw materials or packaging to meet scheduled production demands.
  • Review inventory levels daily to maintain accurate raw material inventories
  • Manages relationships and accurate contact information with hundreds of suppliers coordinating frequent daily shipments with a wide range of shipping lead time requirements. Includes receiving, confirming, and storing all purchase order documents and following up with suppliers and logistics for late orders.
  • Support planning and purchasing of raw materials for multiple blending work centers.
  • Review, forward, and action price discrepancies at time of order entry with central purchasing so procurement systems are updated, and purchase orders are amended, ordered, acknowledged, and confirmed by the supplier.
  • Work with AP department personnel on invoice discrepancies when required to ensure proper match and allow for timely payment to suppliers.
  • Work with production to ensure raw materials are received and production schedule is achievable.
  • Review inventory shortages and monitoring of RM in QC status.
  • Back up other planners on the team.
  • Contributes to the following KPI’s:

  • Supplier Delivery Performance (Inbound raw material delivery)
  • Production Schedule Adherence
  • Rough Cut Capacity
  • SOC (Safety Observation Conversation)

  • Working Capital Value

Crucial Experience and Job Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years manufacturing planning or purchasing planning experience, with specific experience planning and purchasing of bulk and non-bulk raw materials
  • Must have extensive knowledge of inventory control, materials management, material procurement, demand management / forecasting; vital for balancing problems created in meeting production demands
  • Must have experience using purchasing and planning modules within SAP
  • Must have well developed organizational and analytical skills coupled with the ability to determine solutions to daily problems by looking ahead.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work optimally with staff at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Must have ability to adapt / modify plans in response to changing circumstances.
  • Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Must align with HSSE policies and procedures: Ensures all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner while following detailed written procedures. Follows bp and OSHA standards.
