Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Data and Performance Services, the Business Intelligence & Business Analytics Administrator develops, maintains, manages, administers, and supports the Authority’s data warehouse. The position focuses on identifying opportunities to create data marts and data warehouses, which will provide upper management with reliable information in order to make informed decisions on day-to-day business objectives, as well as, long term projects. This position also includes a wide range of responsibilities and duties regarding business intelligence and business analytics tools, and platforms, which are in accordance with the Authority’s goals and requirements.

1. Work with other departments to prioritize business and information needs, as well as, identify opportunities for improvement.

2. Collaborate with team members to collect, standardize, and analyze data.

3. Acquire data from various data sources; primary, secondary, or tertiary, and maintain databases and data systems.

4. Structure large data sets to find usable information.

5. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies which optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

6. Filter, “clean,” and troubleshoot data to correct problems.

7. Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and apply business intelligence and business analytics tools to visualize the data.

8. Design dashboards and reports from different data sources.

9. Establish and maintain best practices, which include defining governance processes, policies, guidelines, roles, and responsibilities.

10. Review policies and procedures, as well as, roles and responsibilities to adapt to, evolve into, and remain compliant with business and/or regulatory requirements.

11. Serve as the in-house expert on data visualization.

12. Enable users to customize reports without requiring programing support.

13. Ensure projects hit milestones on time and escalate to proper stakeholders as needed.

14. Solid understanding of project management methodology, including the ability to troubleshoot project roadblocks and proactively seeks solutions to meet deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.

2. Five (5) years of experience with Tableau.

3. One (1) to three (3) years of experience with data visualization tools.

4. Working experience as a data analyst and/or business data analyst a must.

5. Practical work experience in developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations in Tableau.

6. Ability to write queries, reports, and configure dashboards in Tableau.

7. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

8. Strong knowledge and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects), databases (SQL and Oracle), and programming languages (XML, JavaScript, and ETL frameworks).

9. Knowledge using statistical packages for analyzing datasets such as Excel, SPSS, and SAS.

10. Strong analytical skills and ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

11. Strong interpersonal, communication, and group collaboration skills.

12. Ability to work with diverse teams.

13. Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities, independently and as part of a team.

14. Valid New Jersey driving license.
