Job Summary/Description:

Gray is looking for an experienced Broadcast Media professional to help drive client business development with our TV stations and to train and develop our media professionals at our Training facility in Charlotte, NC. The Business Development Team seeks a Media Sales Strategist who will be responsible for station revenue development and training across all of our television station properties. This position will also focus on in-market station visits to help generate revenue, develop new client relationships and further develop our sales professionals.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

o Responsible for the sales development and training of all sellers and managers
o In-market station visits to generate revenue and develop sellers
o Staying in tune and ahead of technology advancements, especially in digital
o Developing new strategies and training content that will drive and accelerate revenue

Qualifications/Requirements:

o At least five years of sales experience in the Broadcast industry
o At least two years of sales management experience in the Broadcast industry
o Exceptional written, verbal and communication skills. Demonstrates fluency, “quickness on one’s feet.” Composes clear, precise, well-organized correspondence and proposals. Easily articulates vision and standards.
o High level of proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc)

  • Must be able to plan and organize multiple projects at a time and in a productive manner
  • A solution-based thinker that can generate new approaches to problems and provide thoughtful solutions
  • A goal-oriented individual that displays strong work ethic and initiative in everything they do
  • Great judgment and demonstrates consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in their decision-making ability
  • Strong negotiation skills where the individual can achieve favorable outcomes in win/win negotiations
  • Adaptability and can adjust quickly to changing priorities. Copes effectively with complexity
  • Leadership - inspires people to follow the lead. Leads by example and actively intervenes to create and energize positive change

o Analysis Skills - identifies significant problems and opportunities. Analyzes problems in depth. Relates and compares data from different sources
o Strategic Thinker - anticipates what needs to be done and finds a way to get it done. Makes tactical and strategic adjustments, incorporating new data
