Responsibilities:
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for helping AMPP obtain financial growth through the pursuit of new customers and market segments, and by extending the reach of AMPP programs to existing clients. Duties include reviewing current market trends and proposing/implementing new business ideas to improve revenue. This role also sets priorities for the promotion of AMPP’s Education portfolio, establishes strong relationships with education clients, assesses the education needs of customers/corporations, and manages training quotes through the complete quotation lifecycle. Works with Marketing to execute campaigns intended to track, promote, and support the growth of global education programs, while leading data collection and analysis efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in development of the execution of business development strategies (i.e. market research, product positioning, SWOT analysis, etc.) to meet budgeted growth for AMPP Education programs.
  • Follow up on leads gathered through business development activities with a goal of converting 1/4 of those into a follow up proposal and/or an AMPP sale.
  • Identify recurring customers within the database and develop “targeted customer lists” for potential bundled sales.
  • Maintain contact records and target lists in the AMPP contact database for the Business Development team. These contacts may be acquired through external conference events, business cards collected, prior attendance at AMPP or external events, social media contacts or other data gathering efforts.
  • Research new industry events and identify events in which Business Development should participate.
  • Assist in creating strategic marketing plans and promote educational programs throughout industry channels from grass-roots campaigns to strategic initiatives. Coordinate with marketing, social media, publications, and sales efforts cross functionally to extend the reach of AMPP’s programs, products, and services (PPS).
  • Attend and/or exhibit at appropriate industry events representing AMPP’s interests, as well as prospecting for new business.
  • Research and execute business development data mining projects and deliver weekly reports on education/marketing revenue statistics.
  • Develop, and possibly deliver, business development presentations for events and customer meetings.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Up to 30% travel is expected for this role and passport is required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in business, education, sales, marketing, communications, or a related subject plus a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a business development role, or a High School diploma, plus a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a business development role.
  • Strong experience working with MS Office Products and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and CRM/Sales Force knowledge.
  • Work experience in a not-for-profit association is a plus.
