Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or “service”) their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Summary:
The First Line of Defense Business Analyst will provide support to the Investor Servicing team by streamlining existing processes, add additional controls via analytics solutions and provide management reporting by accumulating data from various sources to provide timely, consistent and harmonious reporting through an automated fashion.
Responsibilities:
  • Create automation for testing of Investor Servicing functions to assist with audit preparation and deadline
  • Prepare management reports detailing audit testing of the Investor Servicing department
  • Manage through to completion audit finding remediations with respective departments
  • Work with First Line of Defense team and the business to create audit routines with the potential to automate those routines
  • Test policies and procedures to ensure the process performs as expected and suggest potential automation or improvements
  • Create an automated testing program for risks and controls
  • Demonstrate flexibility to ever-changing business needs and requirements.
  • Responsible for leading projects focused on creating efficiency within the organization through process improvement or enhancing technology systems.
  • Recommend process changes/system modifications to streamline and automate a business process.
  • Define high-level goals and road map associated with their project.
  • Identify and analyze the risks associated with achieving the milestones for a project. Develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for project related issues that need to be escalated to senior management for resolution.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 4 - 6 years of Mortgage Servicing experience with 3 + years of Investor Reporting experience
  • Advanced MS Excel experience
  • Advanced SQL or other database reporting experience
  • At least 5 years of hands-on coding experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server and performance tuning of SQL queries.
  • Understanding data integration issues (validation and cleaning).
  • SBO 2000 knowledge preferred
  • Possess an understanding of GSE servicing guides and a willingness to interpret pooling and servicing agreements
  • Solid analytical skills, particularly in regard to assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically
  • Strong communication skills in order to interact with Senior Management and other business units
  • Working understanding of operational risks and related controls
