Under the general direction of the Facilities Supervisor, Program Director, or branch specific designee, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Building Monitor will be responsible for monitoring the facility and associated activities for members and participants. General duties include the enforcement of all YMCA operation policies and procedures as well as ensuring a positive and safe environment for members in this assigned area.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:

• Patrol and monitor building activities in individual and group settings during operational or non-operational hours as scheduled by manager. Group events may include activities such as on-site church services.
• Check locker rooms and restock inventory.
• Monitor interior and exterior of facilities and perform manager on duty responsibilities as assigned. Monitor the operational services at the branch-Duties include:
• Assist with special events, support branch operations, meet and greet new members, check on safety items and quality standards, and connect and engage with members and staff
• Assist with member requests, as assigned.
• Maintain recordkeeping and incident reporting.
• Assist members to and from parking lot as needed.
• Must be able to work a varied work schedule as needed including evenings and week-ends. Subject to change with notice.
• Must be able to work with a diverse population including members, volunteers, and fellow employees.
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong written/verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
• Safety certifications and all trainings and certifications in accordance with the Quality Standards within required timeframe.
• Two years college education or combination of education and experience that applies to the job.
