BSA/AML Junior Investigation Analyst
Responsible for providing support to the Financial Investigation Unit Supervisor and the Compliance Officer in maintaining compliance with the Bank’s Program. Researches, analyzes, and investigates customer account behavior for potential suspicious activity and/or money laundering; tracks trends and detects unusual activity or behavior; monitors large currency activity and transactions; determines if transactions are suspicious in nature, such as significant changes in balances, structuring in deposits, loans payments and certificate of deposit purchases, wire or ACH transfers, monetary instrument sales, new account openings, etc.
Essential Responsibilities:
Reviews of regulations surrounding USA Patriot ACT, Customer Identification Program, OFAC, and all investigations pertaining to potential money laundering.
Analyzes events of suspicious activity and/or money laundering to ensure that all potentially suspicious events are appropriately identified, documented, and escalated within specified timeframes in accordance with BSA Compliance Program.
Assists with special projects including review of BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures to maintain compliance with existing requirements along with new and emerging risk to ensure an efficient and well-organized program.
Compiles data and maintains necessary records and files to ensure efficient and consistent escalation of suspicious investigations.
Develops and maintains partnership with federal and state law enforcement agencies to facilitate investigations.
Assists the Compliance Officer in the search for elements that are subject to help clarify the doubts generated in the information provided by the clients to justify the operations carried out.
Provide the Compliance Officer with relevant information for the preparation of management reports that must be submitted to the Board of Directors.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
Maintains a good understanding of the BSA regulations; FinCEN guidelines relative to BSA Suspicious Activity Reporting; current money laundering schemes; and investigative techniques required to detect such schemes.
Bachelor's or Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university; have related experience and / or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. The work-related experience should consist of the management of the process of opening accounts, due diligence, banking systems, and financial services among other related. In addition, must have an experience of supervision. It is required that the educational experience, through internal training sessions, the formal school or the curriculum related to the financial industry, be applicable to the financial industry.
Intermediate knowledge of the regulations related to the state and federal banking compliance, the policies and procedures of the Bank and the products and services of the Bank (Advocacy).
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Remote Platforms.
Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all activities and terminology of accounts and operations.
1-2 years of experience of Banking Compliance highly desirable.
