While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
This job encompasses all aspects of assembling parts into sub-assemblies and products for the next stage of production.

- Uses work order for specifications on how part of a subassembly is to be built.
- Using appropriate drawings to assemble parts and/or products.
- Must be able to read engineering prints and drawings.
- Checks stock for adequate supplies picks parts and follows proper procedures for shortages.
- Must be able to use all types of wood saws.
- Must be able to cut floors and install them in tunnels.
- Must be able to manufacture transition ramps for tunnels.
- Must be able to use sheet metal press and shear.
- Will be required to learn how to manufacture and install sheet metal flashings.
- Will be required to learn how to cut and install wallboard.
