Breast Cancer Access Nurse (RN) - Per Diem
The NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell is looking to hire experienced oncology nurses to care for our newly diagnosed cancer patients. Whether patients are seeking a second opinion or are looking for a place to receive treatment, the oncology outpatient access nurses are integral to welcoming patients with open arms.
In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients to support their transition to receiving treatment at NYP/WC. Access Nurses are responsible for contacting patients to coordinate an appointment as quickly as possible and ensure that patients’ first visits are productive through complete record collection and care coordination. Summarize a patient’s history and medical records to create write ups for presentation to the physicians as part of the multidisciplinary clinic (MDC) program. This is a per diem position.
Preferred Criteria
- Experience working in a practice
- Outpatient experience
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN)
Required Criteria
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current New York State RN license
- At least 2 years’ of experience in oncology nursing
