PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Primarily responsible for operating the box fill station throughout the shift in and assisting Packaging Operator on all packaging line activities, and any other duties assigned by Crew Lead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work in a safe manner and follow all company rules and policies concerning safety and PPE.
• Work with Crew Lead to plan day’s production and sample each railcar at the start of the shift.

o Utilize tarps and catch pans to ensure no spills in the rail yard
o If spills do occur, use portable vacuum to clean up immediately
o Properly label samples and store in the appropriate Gaylord box

• Verify the Packaging Instructions vs customer instructions prior to hooking up to the railcar.
• Visually verify the railcar number vs the packaging instructions as the car is being hooked up to.
• Hook up railcars and operate blower to fill the silo.
• Remove lid, fill boxes, zip tie liner once filled, replace lid onto box and apply any necessary labels.
• Assist in performance of required clean down duties in between packaging assignments.
• Accurately fill out any required paperwork for a production run as directed by the Crew Lead.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
• Identify damages and quality deficiencies and work with Crew Lead to correct.
• Maintain productivity and quality levels as set by Management
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Crew Lead.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse environment.
• Good math, language, and reading skills
• Knowledge of proper PPE requirements
• Considerate and respectful to coworkers
• Good math, language, and reading skills
• Able to follow instructions given for daily tasks

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• A variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day
• Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
• Frequently lift up to 55 lbs. and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time.
• Occasional climbing of ladders
• Use of basic warehouse equipment
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
