POSITION SUMMARY
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining a presentable grounds appearance for the Community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Ensures Community grounds are well-groomed and free of trash, debris and hazards.
- Pressure washes sidewalks, building, roadway and other Community structures.
- Trims, prunes and shapes various trees, bushes, shrubs and plants, as directed by supervisor.
- Assists with any maintenance projects as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Operations Director.

Educational Requirements and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Willing to learn additional maintenance skills and responsibilities.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
- Works primarily outdoors
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required
- Exposure to the elements (heat, cold, rain)
- Exposure to chemicals related to maintenance of lawns and shrubs
- Must be able to set up and climb ladders safely with tools and equipment necessary for assigned work
