Summary:
Under the direction of the PCD Manager, setups up and operates the Graf wet polishing machines performing a variety of machine operations including preventative maintenance, daily process control checks, manual and automated blasting of tooling
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
• May mask areas not being sandblasted and areas of object to protect from abrading action.
• Loads parts on racks in enclosed rooms or into cabinets.
• Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle to obtain specified finish.
• Manually directs nozzle over surface of tools and uses glove-fitted cabinets to manipulate small tools under nozzle.
• Deburring, removal of tooling marks, undesirable finish or pre-existing coatings on tooling surface using both cabinet blasters and chemical cleaning

Preparing tooling surfaces for application of new coatings- Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities.

• May examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
• Performs other duties as required
• Wears appropriate PPE.

Requirements
Qualifications:

• Capability of operating both wet and dry a sand/media blaster units
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
• Ability to read and understand production work orders and follow work instructions
• Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work based on business needs and instructions
