Job Description:
The BlackBerry QNX Test Team is seeking talented individuals with a mind for details and passion for quality. BlackBerry QNX produces an exciting array of embedded software products including Safety certified real-time Operating System, BSP and drivers, networking stacks, security software, hypervisors, graphics, audio support, multimedia support, and sensor integration such as cameras, LiDAR and radar. QNX customers use our technology to build embedded systems for everything from automobiles to internet, from medical devices to space systems, and from manufacturing to nuclear power plants.
You will contribute to the test automation tooling and implementation supporting the BlackBerry QNX test team. You will contribute directly to efficiency improvements, improved test visibility and coverage, software health monitoring and test reports.
Technologies include various build and test automation tools such as pytest, python, Jenkins, build servers, scripting, test result collection and processing, restAPI, mongo database. The ideal candidate will be effective at enhancing existing tools and generating ideas for new tools.
Job Duties
- Work with test tooling team to analyze and implement new tool features such as database UI features, meta data processing and filtering, importing data to database and development of UI dashboards.
- Work with functional test teams to migrate and use new test tools, and resolve user reported problems.
- Develop and optimize database exports, reports and visualization of test data.
- Build in automation to detect data issues such as incomplete data, corruption or zero value data.
- Identify and run a series of tests to validate the test tools are reliable and accurate so that the exported results can be trusted.
- Integrate various tools together such as Jenkins, Mongo database, Jira and Jama.
Required Skills
- Languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML (DOM Element), CSS | SCSS | SASS
- Platforms including Node.js, Angular
- Implementation experience with REST API, MEAN Stack
- UI Design experience
- MongoDB basic knowledge or similar noSQL database
- Software version control, such as GIT
- Command Line/Terminal Experience
- Scripting experience: bash, batch, Perl, Python is a plus
- Knowledge of C/C++ or desire to learn other programming languages
Experience & Education
- University degree in computer science, engineering (or equivalent)
- 2+ years experience of web development experience
- Proven track record in design and delivery of functioning web development tools
- Willing to enhance existing tools and ideas as well as think-up new ideas that will benefit the test quality tools for the whole company.
- Takes initiative to find creative solutions to problems and takes an active role in team design discussions.
- Contributing to the design/planning of new projects and tools.
- Experience with automated testing practices of web platforms
- Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of roles from management to student interns
- Willingness to take an active role in the team to strategize, plan, assign tasks to the team, lead team meetings, and deliver results
- Innovative attitude and creative problem solver willing to enhance existing tools and ideas as well as conceive new ideas
- Enthusiasm coupled with initiative and an intense desire to learn in a team that thrives on invention, creation and implementation.
