Job Summary

Under general supervision from a Biostatistics leader, this position provides bio-statistical analyses and research deliverables that have intermediate and advanced complexity.

Computers and Technology

  • Experience with SAS or R is required.
  • Experience with SQL is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to conduct basic, intermediate, and advanced programming/coding in standard analytical software packages to create automated processes, macros, and other data output.
  • Strong understanding of standard syntax and logic.
  • Ability to review, troubleshoot, and debug the coding of other staff.
  • Considerable knowledge of data system design and planning, information technology systems, health informatics, and/or data visualization methods.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and three years’ relevant experience required OR; 2. Bachelor’s degree and six years’ relevant experience required. Required degree concentration: Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or other scientific, health, medical, or social sciences field with a concentration in Statistics. Relevant experience is defined as: experience in biostatistics/statistics.
  • Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Three years of related experience, required.
  • Prior experience leading and supervising teams, required.
  • Prior experience in development and supervision of multiple research projects, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Selects and applies basic, intermediate, and advanced statistical and/or epidemiological methods.
  • Prepares and manipulates standard datasets to enable the use of detailed queries.
  • Creates tabulations and other types of visual representation of data results.
  • Interprets intermediate and advanced analyses as part of the preparation of clear and concise reports.
  • Coordinates assigned staff (such as Biostatistician I, Statistical Research Assistant, Research Assistant, interns, or others) for the creation of reports involving intermediate and advanced complexity.
