Job Title: Biometrics (Fingerprinting) Technicians
State: Massachusetts
Position Summary
As a Biometrics Technician, you will be primarily responsible for the collection biometrics/ fingerprints and proctoring exams.
This position works as a part of a team of professionals that provides background checks and other biometrics/ fingerprinting services for DoE, DoHS, and Police departments from local towns. We also collect biometrics/ fingerprints for individuals and private companies that in some occasions include background checks for FBI, FINRA, FDLE and various other states.
This position is for PART-TIME team members with the potential of becoming Full-Time.
- PART-TIME* employees are expected to be available all five days, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:45 am to 6:15 pm or for certain coverage times as needed at the site. This is not a regular Full -Time. Part-Time employees have a set schedule of hours; however, occasionally employees are notified the night before or day if changes need to be made to the existing schedule. Employees are regularly scheduled for 20 - 30 hours a week but can be altered depending on applicant volume and site needs.
- This position will require the ability to pass a government clearance
- The candidates will be required to undergo job training for qualified candidates
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete biometrics registration for applicants
- Ensure all who enter the premises are approved applicants and visitors while providing crowd control and assisting the staff in enforcing the rules and policies of the firm
- Provide front-line customer service as representatives of FingerMetrics
Highlights of Responsibilities
It is expected that providing applicants with the highest level of customer service is primary in all responsibilities. This position must be able to work with the public, display a cheerful and inviting demeanor, smile, manage the applicants with sensitivity, courtesy and ensuring the applicant is treated with respect as a customer of the FingerMetrics.
Further, personnel must safeguard all areas where Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is vulnerable such as applicant’s paperwork and identifications, electronic biometric data, and reports.
- Perform quality biometrics processing to include capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established program-wide processing times.
- Assist applicants with processing forms.
- Review background and biometrics documentation.
- Perform biometrics processing to include capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures.
- Proof and check work for accuracy and completeness and maintain a 98% efficiency rating for all processed forms.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all applicants. Track processing time for each applicant.
- Safeguard all documents at all times.
- Perform additional administrative duties as needed.
- Screen applicants entering the facility to ensure they have a valid appointment notice and identification allowing their entry into the premises.
- Conducting periodic facility checks reporting any concerns to the Site Supervisor to manage.
- Assist the office manager in contacting local law enforcement when required.
- Manage and complete with accuracy administrative paperwork such as tracking processing time for applicants, reconciliation paperwork of biometrics captured, assisting in maintaining a visitor control log for non-applicants entering the facility, signing off on facility checks, and other administrative duties as needed.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued suitability clearance.
- Must be able to speak and write in English.
- Ability to stand upright on one’s feet for scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks.
- Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hands to obtain quality fingerprints.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment with the public.
- Ability to type and use basic computer skills.
- Successful completion of the biometrics training and become certified within sixty days
Minimum Education and Experience Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- No experience needed as all required job training will be provided.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to speak Spanish
