Bio Laboratory Equipment Technician

VAI is currently seeking to hire a Bio Laboratory Equipment Technician. In this role, you will responsible for performing corrective and preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairs of laboratory/research equipment in order to maintain the uninterrupted operation of the Institute’s Research. Your Key Responsibilities in this role will include the following:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities on Institute laboratory/research equipment in accordance with all regulatory and licensing standards.
  • Follow blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers’ instructions to conduct Preventative and Corrective work orders on laboratory/research equipment.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that all incoming laboratory/research equipment is inventoried, tested and inspected.
  • Conduct in-service educational programs regarding the safe operation of laboratory/research equipment and systems.
  • Perform the administrative components of parts inventory management including product ordering, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and audit.
  • Maintain technical documentation of laboratory/research equipment, systems, processes, and procedures.

The skills you will be required to have in this role:

  • Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronics or equivalent education and/or experience in electronics or technology related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years biomedical/electronics technician experience required.
  • Ability to lift, reach, carry, and transport packages and supplies.
  • Active pursuit or completion of AAMI Certification preferred.

  • Maximo, BMS
  • RO/DI systems, bulk sterilizers

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
All full-time employees of Van Andel Institute are eligible for benefits, effective Day One! The hourly rate you can expect in this role is based on your experience and skills, however, we are targeting $20 – 21.50/hour.
