Dynamic Opportunity~ As a full-time employee, working 40 hours per week, the Billing Specialist is responsible for the collection of unpaid third-party claims and appeals, using billing applications. Works with the payers to resolve issues and facilitate prompt payment of claims.

The Guidance Center~ is a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care for individuals and families with mental health needs in the greater Cumberland County, NJ area. For more than 50 years, our non-profit organization of professionals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, has assisted the community in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental illness.

What does this position look like~ The Billing Specialist completes all reviews, and processes that are necessary to submit compliant daily and weekly billing through the EHR to Medicaid, Medicare, NJMHAPP, third party payors. Invoices clients or responsible parties. Maintains and updates client information in the EHR system. Verifies insurance, Medicaid Eligibility, Medicare, private insurance, and obtains and verifies authorizations when required by payor. Collects and applies payments from reimbursements. Investigates, troubleshoots and resolves denials with guidance EHR and Billing Compliance Director. Assists with reports to the board and special projects as requested. Maintains confidential information in accordance with agency's policies.

What you need to apply~

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong proactive problem solver
• Highly organized with an emphasis on attention to detail
• Experience billing with an EHR system
• Working knowledge of various compliance rules and regulations regarding billing reimbursement and documentation
• Knowledge and experience with Excel, Word and QuickBooks preferred
