Billing Clerk/Accounts Receivable - Construction
Job description
We are looking for a reliable Billing Clerk. You will be responsible for entering production, preparing invoices and updating records. As a billing clerk, you must be accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents. Being good at math and a high degree of organizational ability are essential due to the great amount of financial information. Must be proficient in excel.
Responsibilities
- Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry
- Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output
- Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents
- Check the data input in the accounting system to ensure accuracy of final bill
- Issue invoices and bills and send them to customers through various channels (mail, e-mail etc.)
- Generate reports, store completed work in designated locations and perform back up operations
- Resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the supervisor
- Entry of customer and account data using alphabetic and numeric keystrokes
- Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures
- Preparing and sorting documents for data entry
- Entering data into database software and checking to ensure accuracy of the data that has been entered
- Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents
- Identifying and correcting any errors or reporting them to supervisors
- Scanning, printing, and sorting documents in both electronic format and hard copies
Skills
- Proven experience as billing clerk/specialist or general accounting experience
- Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); Working knowledge of relevant software
- Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information
- Good organizational skills
- High degree of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma; further education will be a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
