Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of professional billing data entry and obtaining payment or denial from payers of services rendered in the Bariatric Care Center, including posting payment, reprocessing of rejections, denials and regulations requirements. Uses coding knowledge to make sure that the appropriate code was used given the support of the professional charge to be posted. Also responsible for entering all technical (facility) charges, and for managing the private pay program for both the professional and the technical components. Ensures that all work is done accurately, timely, and in compliance with federal, state, and payer specific regulations.
Formal Education Required:

Formal Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), RHIT eligible, CCA, or CCA eligible, CCS or CCS-P, CMC, CPC
- Completion of a formal medical coding training program.
- Previous coding experience, including assigning of ICD-9 and CPT codes in a multi-specialty group setting, preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word required
