DC based, mission-driven organization administering health and pension benefits has an opportunity for a Benefits Specialist to join our Eligibility Services Department.
The incumbent will handle an array of duties to include (but not limited to):
- Processing applications and analyzing eligibility for benefits
- Interpreting and applying complex regulations, policies, or procedures
- Data gathering, organizing case files while maintaining confidentiality
- Determining eligibility for multiple application types
- Responding to applicant and beneficiary inquiries verbally or in writing
- Participates in recurring and nonrecurring special projects
Bachelor’s Degree PLUS one year of related work experience interpreting and applying complex regulations and/or policies. Must pass required testing. Great time management skills. Astute to detail.
