Benefits Specialist| Remote Job | $78/hr

Shift schedule: Mon - Fri 8 AM to 5 PM

REMOTE SET UP!

6 months to 1 year Contract!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain vendor 401(k) relationships to ensure service levels are met according to contractual agreement, including consultants and third-party administrators.
  • Perform analysis of 401(k) plan, including data comparisons, error trending, participation track and trending, eligibility, and plan compliance analysis.
  • Administer and maintain 401(k) compliance requirements.
  • Administer all components of the 401(k) plan, including provide data to vendor and accurate & timely funding of the plan. 
  • Manage 401(k) related projects.
  • Ensure annual non-discrimination testing and 5500 filing accuracy.
  • Facilitate annual 401(k) match process timely and accurately.
  • Participate in annual auditing processes with external auditors, and internal finance and auditing partners.
  • As 401(k) SME, handle routine benefits inquiries from associates, related to plan detail, eligibility, enrollment, and claim issues.  Able to resolve complex and escalated issues.
  • Review and audit benefit deductions and ensure deductions for various benefit plans are funded accurately into associate’s account. 
  • Reconcile 401(k) data to ensure transmitted contributions match Payroll deductions.
  • Oversee vendor contractual adherence and renewals in coordination with procurement team to ensure timely invoice remittance within annual budget.
  • Responsible for research and feedback to escalated customer service issues with third party suppliers. 
  • Identify trends and develops solutions to improve customer experience.
  • Assist the Benefits team and other stakeholders (i.e., Labor Relations, HRBPs) in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data from multiple sources using Excel spreadsheets and other analytical tools.
  • Analyze results, interpret data and summarize findings and implications using PowerPoint, Word, and other written communication formats. 
  • Maintain/oversee compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations.
  • Act as back up to Pension Plan administration and vendor management.
  • Ad hoc projects as required, assigned, or requested to continue optimizing plans effectiveness and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • 3 years of experience analyzing 401(k) benefit plans
  • Advanced knowledge in MS applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • An understanding federal and state regulations governing benefits plans
  • Knowledge of health/ welfare, retirement and leave benefit products, services and tools
