Position: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Full-time or Part-time, as determined

Purpose/Summary of Position: According to the BACB, The Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who are responsible for all work RBTs perform.

Reports to: Supervisor of ABA Services

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-to-1 behavior supports to individuals as outlined by the BCBA or Behavior Therapist
  • Maintain caseload of clients (number based on total client billable hours meeting the minimum billing expectation)
  • Be familiar with Functional Behavior Assessments for clients on caseload and implement the Behavior Support Plans with fidelity
  • Collect data as outlined by the BCBA or Behavior Therapist
  • See clients face-to-face at location best for treatment (home, community, office, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members under the direction of the BCBA or Behavior Therapist assigned to the case (inside and outside of Covenant Care) to provide holistic treatment to individuals served and maintain consistent communication
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner
  • Participate in supervision by a BCBA as outlined by the BACB
  • Participate in training opportunities as needed
  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisory staff and request support/guidance as needed

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Be certified as a Registered Behavior Technician with the BACB or be willing to become certified within the first 30 days of employment
  • Be in good standing with all professional licensure and certifications
  • Maintain certification and all requirements as such
  • Experience required: None
  • Experience preferred: Experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis

Availability:
Monday-Friday 8:15-4:45 with a 30-minute lunch break; days and hours subject to flexibility to accommodate the needs of individuals served

Physical Demands:
Ability to physically complete the roles and responsibilities as defined above

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Follow and record data for prescribed skill aquisition training protocols.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA/LPC/LCSW.
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Assist Lead Behavioral Technician, BCBA/LPC/LCSW, and ABA Interns with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments.
  • Assist Lead Behavioral Technician, BCBA/LPC/LCSW, and ABA Interns in preparing client materials as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assume Lead Behavioral Technician responsibilities in their absence.
  • Collaborate with treatment team including client, guardian, family, and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioral Technician, ABA Interns, and co-workers.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
