BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST

FULL TIME

Day Shift

Hopewell Health Centers, Inc. is currently seeking a Behavior Specialistto work with the youth in our partial hospitalization program located in Cheshire, OH. If you are passionate about mental health, here is your opportunity to help make a difference in someone’s life!

Behavior Specialist Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• 8am-4pm

Behavior Specialist Responsibilities:

• Responsible for direct care and supervision of the youth in the partial hospitalization program (REACH) in Meigs County, OH.
• Behavior Specialists work with children ages 8-18 who are experiencing severe symptoms of mental illness which require an intensive level of care in a classroom/group setting and require care planning capabilities.
• Work collaboratively with children and adolescents, family members and other service providers.

Behavior Specialist Requirements:

• Eligible to work in the United Stated
• Bachelor’s degree in mental health or closely related field is preferred and/or experience and/or training working with children and families with a primary interest in working with severely emotionally disturbed children and their families.
• Behavior Specialists must have the ability to: verbally de-escalate youth who regularly experience acute symptoms of mental illness
• Complete verbal de-escalation and physical intervention training and show adequate skills in these areas
• Work closely with clients and team members in assessment and problem solving
• Work responsibly and manage own workload
• Communicate effectively verbally and in written form
• Relate well/appropriately to multi-need children and their families and understand and relate to the family’s values and culture and the child’s interests.
