YMCA School's Out Before and Afterschool programs start on Wednesday, September 7th, and we're looking for energetic, caring, responsible people who enjoy working with kids and would like to work part-time as counselors in the following schools:

• Crosby Elementary (Kingston)
• Chambers Elementary (Kingston)
• Edson Elementary (Kingston)
• George Washington Elementary (Kingston)
• John F. Kennedy Elementary (Kingston)
• Ellenville Elementary
• Kerhonkson Elementary (Rondout)
• Marbletown Elementary (Rondout)
• Lenape Elementary (New Paltz)
• Highland Elementary
• Marlboro Elementary

Morning shifts are from 6:45am to 9am (except Lenape, which runs to 9:30am).

Afternoon shifts are from approximately 2:45pm to 6pm (except Rondout school programs, which end at 5:45pm).

CPR & First Aid certification and availability to work mornings a plus.

Must be 18+ and willing to complete a background check.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise a group of children.
2. Plan and implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values.
3. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. Health and safety procedures include strict CDC and NYS COVID-19 guidelines.
4. Completes required OCFS trainings.*
5. Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
6. Cultivate positive relationships and maintain effective communication with guardians, children, other YMCA staff, and school staff.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

• These programs operate under NYS Office of Children and Family Services regulations. Upon hire, prior to your start date, you must complete the following tasks/ submit the following documentation:

• Proof of physical completed by your healthcare provider within the past 12 months.
• Proof of a PPD Test completed by your healthcare provider within the past 24 months. This must be completed every 12 months.
• A background check will be completed. Steps will be outlined upon hire.
• OCFS trainings include Mandated Reporter, Foundations in Health & Safety, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and Elijah's Law.
