BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB
This position is a Microsoft Lead Specialist, responsible for working within and helping to improve and refine an existing lead management process. This position works to receive sales leads directly from Microsoft and to work with Insight Sales Teams and clients to understand the clients’ needs and ensure we exceed their expectations. Ideal candidate can manage a high volume of leads and communicate effectively with clients and internal sellers, as well as with Microsoft resources.

This position supports Insight Sales Teams through customer meetings, providing customer solutions and conference calls and plays a significant role in responding specific lead opportunities provided to Insight by Microsoft.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Manage and track status of a high volume of sales leads
  • Provide initial guidance on leads to Insight Sales Teams and Clients.
  • Participate in customer meetings and participate in assignment of leads to sales teams.
  • Serve as a Microsoft ambassador at Insight for our extensive Microsoft practice.
  • Provide assistance in closing specific business opportunities
  • Drive sales goals through direct customer contact
  • Maintain pipeline
  • Identify specific business opportunities during customer conference calls and identify upsell opportunities where applicable.
  • Work with Account Executives on lead opportunities provided by the manufacturer
  • Due to the ever-changing nature of our industry, constant education is necessary to keep abreast of the software solutions offered by manufacturers and their direct competitors. This will be accomplished through reading material on manufacturer websites, attending webinars and training sessions, and by participating in meetings with manufacturer representatives.
  • Identifies and take part in training and certification programs that will support the technical, product, and industry training necessary to successfully win the confidence of Insight sales executives and customers and increase revenue in the manufacturers assigned.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
  • manufacturer or industry certification is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of software industry experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years successful sales experience is required.
  • Customer service or support background is also desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer hardware/software knowledge is required. The willingness and ability to self-learn much of the software licensing information that will be necessary to serve as a resource for clients and Insight Account Executives is required. Excellent oral and interpersonal skills are a must. Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills are also desired.

In addition, knowledge of the sales process combined with the ability to establish and maintain rapport with both internal and external customers is needed. This position must understand the Insight objectives and possess the ability to make decisions and undertake actions that balance customer needs with available product solutions and company policies.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from sales associates, sales managers or customers. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must and proven telephone skills are required.
